In this app you will find over 230 militarycamping locations across the lower 48 United States. The source ofthe data is the US Military Campgrounds and RV Parks and is usedwith the permission of the site’s owner, Larry Farquhar. Thissource is widely acknowledged as the most comprehensive singlesource for military campground information.Please note that in general these military campgrounds areintended to be used only by people connected with the military,mainly active duty, reserve and retired members. At some locationsDOD civilian workers are allowed, as are disabled veterans; thosedeterminations are made by local base commanders. A few are open tothe public and are noted in our data.This app does require internet access to work properly. Thecampground data is on your device as part of the app, but the mapis loaded from the internet. When first opened, the app will becentered on your current location. From there you can scroll themap to view campgrounds in other areas or you can enter a city orlatitude/longitude into the Search box and jump to that location.To get back to your current location, just tap the Locatoricon.Campground icons are color-coded according to the service branch“ownership” of that facility and also include an abbreviation, thusmaking it easy to pick out each type on the map.Tapping on a campground icon will result in a pop-up balloonwith all the info available for that location.
